Troubleshooting

Common errors candidates hit in the app, and what to tell them.

No Internet Connection
Ask the candidate to check their connection, hardwire if possible, and relaunch the app.
Email Addresses Do Not Match
The app shows "The email addresses do not match!" when the two email boxes differ. Ask the candidate to type the same address in both, using the one that received the invitation. Capital letters and extra spaces do not matter.
Error Submitting
The app shows "We could not send your results. Please try again." when the results could not be saved. Ask the candidate to check their connection and press Submit again. They do not need to rerun the scan.

Version 1.5 · October 28, 2026

October 30, 2026: the app is now digitally signed. Windows shows "Paramount Staffing, LLC" as the publisher instead of "Unknown publisher". The app itself did not change.
Internet speed is now measured against a nearby server. Earlier versions measured against a server in Brazil, which made fast connections look much slower than they are, especially for download speed.
The app now checks connection quality as well as speed: ping, jitter and packet loss, both on a quiet line and while the speed test is running.
A second tab, "Security and setup", shows the new readings: whether the antivirus is switched on and up to date, Windows Update, whether Windows is activated and 64-bit, the firewall, whether the computer is managed by a work or school, whether a VPN is connected, whether Wi-Fi is on, and whether a USB or Bluetooth headset is plugged in.
Several clients require these, so candidates no longer need to send screenshots for most of them.

Internal change only. The app now sends its access token in a request header rather than in the web address, so the token is no longer written into the service logs on every submission.

The results now include each monitor's screen size. Some clients state a minimum, and the app could not report it before.
Results are now labelled with the tool that produced them, so a desktop run is never confused with the browser check.

Version 1.2 · October 22, 2026

New look, matching Windows 11 rather than the older grey styling.
The download is about a third of the size, so it arrives faster.
Antivirus is now detected correctly. Earlier versions could report "Windows Defender" or "None" on a machine running Avast, Norton or similar.
The network check reports whether Wi-Fi is still switched on alongside a wired connection, which some clients require to be off.
The results screen now shows the camera, microphone and antivirus readings, which were previously collected but not displayed.
Messages no longer get cut off in the smaller windows.

Results now save directly to Paramount's systems. The email address no longer has to match an existing record before the scan can start.
Candidates type their email address twice to catch typos.
The app only reports "Submitted Successfully" once the results are saved, and shows an error the candidate can retry if they are not.

Privacy Policy

Our commitment to your privacy is paramount. This Privacy Policy explains how Paramount Computer Diagnostic collects, uses, and protects information.

Information Collection and Use

Paramount Computer Diagnostic collects data from your device to check it against the requirements of the work-at-home job you applied for. Results are saved to Paramount's own systems under the email address you enter, and may later be added to your candidate record with us. The app shows you everything it sends before you press Submit. The specific information collected includes:

System Hardware Details: Windows version, edition and build, whether it is 64-bit and activated, machine type and model, active monitors with their screen sizes, free, installed and usable RAM, CPU type, processor, cores, disks (size, free space, SSD or hard drive), and graphics.
Security and Updates: Installed antivirus products and whether each is switched on and up to date, when Windows Defender last scanned, whether Windows Update is on and when it last installed an update, firewall, disk encryption, Secure Boot, and how soon the screen locks when left.
Setup: Whether your account can install software, and whether the computer is managed by a work or school.
Network Information: Download and upload speeds, ping, jitter and packet loss, network connection type (wired, Wi-Fi, cellular), whether Wi-Fi is switched on, whether a VPN or proxy is in use, network provider, public IP address and the approximate city it belongs to.
Audio and Video Devices: Microphone, camera, headset, keyboard and mouse availability, and whether they connect by USB or Bluetooth.
Selected Software: Installed web browsers and their versions, and whether VPN, remote-access or call-centre software is installed. The app does not list other software.

The app does not read your files, browsing history, messages, passwords, or Wi-Fi network names.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

The collected data is used to evaluate candidate eligibility for specific job positions and is not shared with third parties outside the organization, except as necessary to fulfill job-related requests.

Access to Your Information and Control

While we employ security measures to protect your information, avoid transmitting sensitive data through email to mitigate potential risks.

Paramount Computer Diagnostic contains one link to an external site: the app's help/support page, maintained by Paramount.

To measure your connection the app exchanges test data with Cloudflare (speed.cloudflare.com and 1.1.1.1), and looks up your network provider with ipinfo.io. Those services see your public IP address, as any website you visit does.
